Photo Story Friday and The Bright Spot

As my friend Melissa would say, I have my cranky pants on today. I'm nursing a sinus infection, the house is in might-as-well-bulldoze-it mode, and I am smack dab in the middle of another insomniac stretch.

I know, I know. Those things are nothing earth shattering. Seems like everyone is sick lately, my house is ALWAYS teetering on the brink of disaster, and after years of not sleeping like a normal person, I should be used to it.

But. I feel crummy. So today there is no story to go with this picture. I just like it. A bright spot in a Cecily-is-a-big-baby kind of week.

P.S. Another bright spot. Our co-host for this week is Emily from Powell Power. She and I found each other through Photo Story Friday and I honestly think of her as a friend. I love that PSF has given me the chance to meet so many great people. Rad.

What a great photo!

I know exactly how you feel. I totally have days where I don't feel good, my kids are driving me crazy, and my house is a disaster. Hopefully you will feel better soon because that makes the rest of it seem not so bad!

No need for a story. You definitely deserve a break. I can certainly see why you like the photo so much though. It's full of light and so carefree. Hoping you get some of that again real soon.

Hope you feel better.

I love that photo! I may sound silly here, but how would I go back and find other people's links to comment on? Do I have to click on the Mr. Linky link each time, even though I've already linked my post? I'm sorry to have to ask:)

Oh I hate having big baby moments, but we all have them! Hang in there. I'm sure the insomnia fairy is looking for her lack of sleep back. :)

Great photo!

"Cranky pants" or not, your photo is stunning. I want to thank you for this Photo Story Friday. I adore reading posts and receiving readers as well.

I hope your weekend makes up for your week. And, while you can, embrace the babyness. We deserve it now and again. ;)

Umm.... did you just sort of skip that chapter in the Mom Handbook that explains, quite clearly, that moms are neither allowed to be cranky OR to be sick?

Feel better soon, my friend!

I'm feeling the SAME way! I'm mourning the loss of my 4-mos-old's great sleeping habits. He's been waking up all night lately because of his blasted stuffy nose, and I'm all freaked that he'll never sleep all night again. Not that I've had a full night's sleep since my oldest was born, but I'm missing my 6-hours in a row.

Can you send the bulldozer over to my house when its done with yours. At this point I'd rather start from scratch than actually clean the poor thing!
I am so sorry that you aren't feeling well and I hope that it passes soon, but I do love your picture. It speaks to me of childhood in it's purest form, swingng without a care in the world.
I have an award for you on my blog, its in the post just below my Photo Story Friday.
So if you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.
And hope you have a better day!

I love that picture. I need to learn to play more with black and white and angles. It would never occur to me to photograph from there. I am always so focused on her smile but that shot is worth a thousand smiles!

What a simple, but yet amazing photo. The lighting is so cool and just seeing Evie's little feet...oh..I feel kind of weepy actually. Your photography really is inspirational, Cecily. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all! (I know that sounded like butt kissing, but it wasn't. It's true. I really feel this way about your art. It's such a blessing to see it!)

* you can ship me my check in the mail later :-) Heee! Just kidding.

I love it. I love "details" pictures. I would almost prefer to shoot my kids fingers and toes than their faces.

(that just sounds weird no matter how I write it).

I hope you get your happy pants back on soon :)

It is a great picture and I could have written that story. Really. I'm still in the mend from colds and sinuses. Ugh!
And I FINALLY just posted my PSF, even though I had it for the week. sigh.

I don't know what it is about sinus infections lately, but when you get them they do seem to last forever. I'm week 2 of mine too. I feel your sniffles. :)
