But that was before he oohed and ahhed over how fast Gracie learned a math concept and after he scooped Evie up and brought her over to hang out with five or six of his friends when we were visiting the school.
This week Gracie fussed, pouted and fought (more than once) instead of doing her chores.

But that was before she painted me a 'get well' card when I had a headache and after she played Princesses and Castles with Evie all afternoon.
This week Evie dumped an entire--right out of the grocery bag--bottle of strawberry syrup on my bedroom carpet.

But that was before she rubbed her belly and said "Mmmmmm, sanks Mama! My faborite!" when I gave her a cup of apple juice and after she greeted her dad at the door with a wrap-around-his-calves hug and a kiss on his knee cap.
I guess they figure it's all about balance. The good and the bad. The naughty and nice. Keeps Jon and I on our toes, anyway.

A BIG P.S. I talked to someone last week about co-hosting this week and I can NOT remember who it was. I feel like an IDIOT. If it was you, first of all, I am so SORRY. And secondly, drop me a line. I'll change the code and email it to you POST HASTE.
UPDATE: It was Jennifer!! Help me make up for being a total dweeb and give her a visit at Happily Ever After Land. Her blog always makes me happy (which is why I was so excited last week when she agreed to co-host and why I am SUPER embarrassed that I forgot). Rad. Me forgetting? NOT so rad.
P.P.S. Answers to the questions you might have:
Yes. I am well aware that someday soon my children will not be nearly as accomodating when I pull them out of playing with thier friends to shoot headshots with me. Until then, I'm doing it.
And yes. Evie had some cranky pants on in that picture. She wiggled out of them in about 7.6 seconds. If ONLY I could manage to do it that fast.

I know exactly what you mean! My toddler is SO cute one minute... and completely exasperating the next!
They certainly do keep you on your toes!
Great pics! :)
I love that sassy look Evie's giving you! Your kids are so darn cute and sweet looking. I'm doubting that they ever push your buttons. :P
So true! As soon as you are ready to give em away or something, they do something wonderful that makes you remember why you love them.
It's a good thing they manage to pull off the good with the little naughty, huh? It's what saves kids .... and parents :)
I am totally loving the personality in the Evie shot it is my favorite! :)
I always enjoy your pictures, they are great! Thanks for hosting!

It's like they are standing on the edge of the forest where the gingerbread cottage is... RUN! ;)

It's definitely like that here too. :) Love the pics as usual!
Great picture!
Great ambiance in the shot.
I know that feeling. I love the shot of Evie!
it wasn't me, but i'd still love to co-host one week!
love the cranky pants pic!
great post.
Ah, kids. One minute you want to hug them tight, the next, you wish you could run and hide.
Love the photo of the 3 of them together. Definitely frameworthy.
I think, when it comes to kids, balance is the best we can hope for.
Kids have a remarkable talent for convincing us -- at the height of their obnoxiousness -- that we ought to keep them around a little longer.
CUTE pics....and the story speaks volumes of what life is really like......a bit of this...and a bit of that.
happy PSF!
It would have been worse if Isaac had been the one to dump the strawberry syrup. Don't ask me why, or how I know this.
Just trust me.
I love this post. It is about balance. Balance, patience, and a dash of humor. ;D
Wow, what beautiful pictures!
It takes those special moments to make up for the other ones, really. Because they're often way, way, way outnumbered... ;)
Beautiful photos - I love the last one in b/w!
As always, awesome pics. I especially love the last one. You've gotta blow it up and frame that one! I love how Evie is looking up at Issac.
And you are right...it is all about balance. Although the sweet moments definitely outweigh the crazy ones...most of the time. haha :)
i feel it too this week...great shots!
this post is so true--and I absolutely love your pictures. And your right about dragging them off to take their picture--do it while you can. When they reach that sullen teenager phase of life they don't like their picture taken unless they can pull a face. I appreciate how hard you work to host this meme each week. I have a little something for you today.
Oh my! Seriously - you need to write a book :-) And adorable pics, btw - wish my kids were that cooperative!
Ohmygosh, that was ME!!! We IM'd on facebook last friday! You are too funny. It's up! Hope ya like it!
It's all about balance :)
The good, the bad, the ugly. It is motherhood, parenthood, life, isn't it? Sometimes finding a balance can be such a challenge, but you do.
I love those photos. That last one -- oh...steal my heart away. That needs to be enlarged, framed and on your wall..in a central place in your home. Period.
I'm just sayin'. . .
They sound like such a wonderful handful!
Isaac is so BIG! When did that happen?
Please say you did not go to the Mandarin tonight & that you can go next Friday when my baby is well.
Shri-i-i-i-i-i-i-mp!
Have I ever told you that I LOVE your kids? Well, I do! haha I don't think I've ever shown you the pics of "the boy" I took while babysitting him one time. Pretty funny that I still have them, but I never throw anything away :D I'll bring em next time we're together. which should be soon, by the way....
What an outstanding post! You are absolutely right it is all about balance. And kids have their good and bad points always. If we focus on the good and just remember that, we'll be happy when we're old and about to die.
Sorry I'm so late this week! I enjoyed coming to visit.
If you have a minute and if you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.
You have the most adorable, sweetest children. Absolutely precious, with all the ups and downs combined. :)
As always.........loved this post. I love that you always show that ALL the things kids do that can sometimes drive us crazy are things to be cherished.
Way to see the "silver lining"! We wouldn't appreciate those precious moments without the horrible ones, right?
