Photo Story Friday and Someday Fame

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

"Hey Mom, someday I want to be famous."

Somehow, I'm not surprised. Not even a little bit.

Note to Self: Back up, back up, BACK UP your stinkin' hard drive. Even if your computer is only 3 1/2 months old.

And dagnabbit, Self! Stop forgetting to use Photobucket or Flickr!!

**Had I been smarter and taken my own advice, this PSF would have been a little different. BUT the powers that be decided otherwise and the picture I was going to use today is floating around in the cyber afterlife. Sigh.

To play PhotoStory Friday, check this. Copy this code into your post and sign Sir Linky:

Oh great...your hard drive crashed after only 3.5 months. I better get on that. I have yet to do it....do you just use CD's? I'm clueless, obviously.

Nothing can make me mad faster than my computer! I have no idea how to back-up, but I upload all my pictures to Shutterfly so I'm hoping they're safe there.

I find it hard to believe that you had a better picture than this one. It's perfect, and I'll bet she is famous some day.
Sometimes I'm afraid my kids will be famous too, just for all the wrong reasons.

It's a great picture! And, oh no! Didn't this just happen to MamaGeek? Going to back up now!

I love the dimension. But, of course, being someone with severe allergies, I'm trying not to sneeze! She's beautiful.

MamaGeek said...

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PHOTO OF YOURS.

EVER.

At least so far. Serious AWESOMENESS.

I lost a lot a few months ago, so I know that pain (and now backup to TWO media).

Casey's trio said...

Oh that stinks about losing some of your pictures. I religiously load my pictures to my Costco account each time I take them off the camera.
And I totally bet she'll be famous one day!

DoodleBunz said...

Ack, how sad!!! But she's adorable, so all isn't lost....

Laura said...

Oh man I haven't backed things up for months. Got to do that. Thanks.

Beautiful girl. Beautiful dreams.

I don't know what you had in mind, but I love this picture. Great perspective and color.

Mandy said...

I keep telling myself I need to do this. Here is my motivation. Thanks! Cute picture regardless. ;-)

OOooo, we learned the "back up your hard drive" lesson the hard way, too. We also learned that burning CDs isn't always a sure thing either. Try looking for online storage sites as well. There are several really good free ones.

The picture of your daughter is absolutely beautiful. I love the edge effect and the colours... awesome shot!

Susan said...

She is precious!
Thanks for the reminder to back-up my hard drive.
Sorry for the loss of your pictures!

raising4boys said...

See, now I'm behind. Sign. I am even more sick knowing you lost pictures. Work, well who cares about that. But pictures!!

Scribbit said...

Oh no! My husband got one of those Airport Extremes from Apple that wirelessly and automatically backs up your hard drive at regular intervals--they have different versions at different prices and it's soooo convenient!

Deb - Mom of 3 Girls said...

Oh no! Definitely a difficult lesson to learn the hard way - and one I've been a victim of too. I hope that you can find a way to recover the lost photos.

I love this one though - oh yes, she definitely's going to be famous someday! :)

Maggie May said...

I think one day she could well end up on the cover of a magazine. Lovely photo Gracie.

Good N Crazy said...

If i'd a had a photo of my dear grandma I would have played along for tomorrow. Oh well.

But THANKS so much for the vote! You rock. I think I'll just sit here all night and watch the voting...I know. *LOSER*.

The Sports Mama said...

I wonder if Gracie realizes she's famous NOW? At least around the blogosphere.

And I absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, to the depths of my soul believe Gracie will be famous somewhere else one day, too. She's just that awesome.

david mcmahon said...

She IS famous.

Re: the hard drive drama -- I always back up stuff - just in case.

imbeingheldhostage said...

That's terrible-- and my worst nightmare!!! The photo you have is gorgeous though. I need to look at your photos before I publish mine-- I'm slapping snapshots up everywhere and you have these works of art. sigh. Lovely PSF (and educational-- backing up NOW)

Head Gaggler said...

Cute shot! Oh and I hear you on the back-ups. I am researching an external drive as we speak!

MomOf3 said...

My husband is a computer guy and he bought me an external hard drive. Snapfish and shutterfly are good free places to store pictures too. I am so sorry you lost some pictures. That is heartbreaking. I hope there is a cyber miracle and you get them back!!

The Apron Queen said...

She's a beauty! I can relate to the hard drive crash. Currently using my kids' laptop as mine joined yours in computer heaven.

My post is There's a snake on my foot!

Bummer about your hard drive! I should follow your advice! I do save a copy of all my photos in my snapfish account however I don't have all my writings backed up somewhere. I'm gonna get on it!
