Wordless Wednesday and Who Says You Can't Take It With You?

When all was said and done, I'm pretty sure we brought home 453 pounds of sand from the beach today. Most of it in Evie's pants.

Sand. The best and worst part of the beach.

Actually. Just the best . . . you get a reminder of all the fun for days and months to come.

The sand is just to remind you about the fun day you guys had...LOL

isn't that the way it goes? you could build your own sand bar or something! At least they had tons of fun....it was evident from their faces in those shots! Happy WW

That's a lot of fun! We've taken home lots of sand, too!

Becky said...

Can you blame them? They had so much fun, they just wanted to take some of the beach with them for later.

What's amazing, is that this happens to everyone when they go to the beach, and yet there is still sand there!

Beautiful pictures, Cecily.

I think we brought home the other half of the from beach on our last trip. Looks like a wonderful day.

Ha! How does that always seem to be the case? Doesn't seem to matter if you wash off, it never washes off!

Especially from the little ones.

Isn't that the way it goes? But hey. It's better than no sand (or water) at all!...like where I'm from - no water *egads*

yep! and 451 pounds of that in the seat of their pants!!! isn't it weird how it manages to work itself into the lining of their togs and never comes out? (ok, togs is kiwi for swimming costume).

HAHA! We spent some days at the beaches in Denmark, and I found sand in our suitcases when I unpacked them yesterday! That stuff gets everywhere!!

I've ruined many a suimsuits at the beach.

What a beautiful collage! It makes me want to take the boys to the beach today. :)

Tricia said...

LOL yes it does look like she's got a back full of sand. We have the same kind of thing happen when we take our dog to the beach - her fur just seems to hold every grain of sand she encountered that day! Sigh.

Spammon said...

Are you pulling our chain, because that doesn't look like sand! Accidents happen ya know. :)

Sand in the diaper -- NICE!!!!!

Great photos!!

It's funny kid's don't really even seem bothered by sand. I consider sand in a swimsuit as one of my top annoyances.

What great pictures of what looks like a great time!

Gorgeous collage! Love the sand . . . I still remember my first beach experience as a kid (mainly b/c it took FOREVER to get all of the sand off/out of my body).

Great pictures! Gotta love the beach!

*stomping feet* I WANNA GO TO THE BEACH!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the teeny tine pedicure splashing the water! Looks like she keeps up with it as well as I do :o).

And how bout those splits? Bonus points for in the water.

I can't not comment on your little guy, now. I had to go back to see what jumped about that shot -- other than it's beautiful photography as usual. I'd have to say the wisp of hair -- it's so beachy and little kid.

They should bottle beach as a hair product -- sell it with a breeze maker.

What would a trip to the beach be without brining home some sand?

Robyn said...

but it was fun wasn't it.

Jessica said...

The beach is the messiest..but the best place ever. Great pics as usual!

I love beaches, and watching kids play in the sand and water, and making sand castles.

But I hate sand.

Fabulous collage of beach shots!

Love the collage!

The sand, not so much. My car, my house, my washer, it is everywhere. All part of the summer fun I guess.

That totally looks like fun! It's been ages since we've played at the beach.

Don't think of it as sand, think of it as a good, inexpensive exfoliating scrub. ;)

Looks like fun! When I was a little kid, my bathing suit was filled with sand, too.

Sandy bottoms ate the epitome of summer.
Fabulous photos, as always.

Oh how cute. When my daughter went to Hawaii, I asked her how she like the ocean and she said, "Mom! I got sand EVERY WHERE! Even in my BUTT!!!"

For some reason she sounded so excited.

She must have gotten a pretty good hosedown when you got home!

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to get up off the floor. Too funny about the sand, and incredible photos.

Jaina said...

Lol, reminds me of a story my mom tells that I only vaguely remember. We were at the park once, and apparently I filled my shoes full of sand and then tried to put my feet back in them. Evidently my goal was to bring enough sand home from the playground so that I could have my own sandbox at home. Too bad I didn't think about using my pants.

Glad your getting settled into your new home. Great pics, and story..looks like great fun!
